Recognize Us!

From the discussion we had on Tuesday, I could say that students of College and University that are going to get a job in their field want to be recognized for what they're worth. We study for several years and when we finally pull it through, we expect to find a good job in recognition of what we achieved.

We don't put money as our first priority when we search for a job, but it's obviously in our top 5. If we could get a good salary, we would rather work less to spend more time with our friends and family. A week of 4 days with 40 hours would be an ideal situation for us. We could look lazy for a baby boomer, but that's the new reality. It was very different back in the 50's, the society has changed, we don't carry the same values, we are more educated, the economical context is not the same and the technology has evolved.

Also, we suggest that the managers should be evaluated on how well they give recognition to their employees. It's a skill that every manager should have because it can stimulate the employees and establishe a good vibration into the company.
